TMP Tutorial & Weekly Fitmesh Finds!

Hi MAddicts,

It’s that time of week again – Weekly Fitmesh Finds time!!

Before I let you get on to hunting down all the awesome fitmesh I’ve found during the week, I wanted to let all you TMP users know (if you didn’t already) that there is a 50% off sale happening at TheShops (clothing/fashion/accessories only). So if you’ve ever wanted to go and grab some of their styles, now is the time to go!!

With TMP in mind, I’ve also now made a short video tutorial on how to shop at the TheShops! It’s long been requested, so for those of you who are new to TMP, or maybe you’ve found it all too complicated, this video will help guide you through the HUDS and shopping experience so that you can grab the free mesh bodies there and/or buy their full versions! In the video I’m shopping for a mesh head there, and you will see a review of the TMP Soft Mesh Head coming to the blog reviews soon, along with a review of their Male Head and Male body! Exciting times 😀 Plus I’m told there are some really amazing changes in the works at TMP – so I’m interested to see what these will be, and will let you know when I do!

So to watch the video – check it out here, and don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel to see these videos as they’re posted!

The reviews will be coming soon, so in the meantime, let’s get on to Weekly Fitmesh Finds!

    • Hey Aviaya 🙂 Unfortunately for email privacy reasons I can’t see who my subscribers are (I can only see who many I have) or manually control them, but each time a blog goes out there’s a link on the bottom of the email that allows you to unsubscribe from it 🙂

  1. The problem with The Mesh Project isn’t the price of their accessories, it’s their opaque business model exemplified by their currency, which appears to me to be nothing but a cash grab (think of gift cards), and the fact the body isn’t friendly to content creators.

  2. At 50% off, people can now see that the markup for TMP clothing is seriously high.
I found their HUDs to be difficult to work with and prone to error.
I quit using my expensive TMP body after buying a 400L skirt that I paid 1000L for, that wouldn’t attach to my body. I found the incompatibilities with other vendors and the lack of clothing from anywhere else suspicious and annoying, so I stopped giving them money and never looked back.
    My experience is not unique.
Some users say that they just wear the cheap version and never buy clothing for it, and I can’t say as I blame them. The closed development is a big downer. As one vendor put it “Why would I give out my UUIDs for all my work, just so that they can claim it as their own and rebrand it? No thank you.”

    • Well, I understand why they use an external server for their HUDS – the textures contained within it and the way it works just wouldn’t function in SL (well it would, but you’d never be able to move or yanno, do anything without crashing lol), but I do agree I find it a complicated system, which sucks because the bodies are so damn gorgeous!!! I’m hoping some of the new updates will make it all a bit easier for users, but time will tell on that one! At the end of the day it’s all user preference, but I am *really* excited about them giving out their mesh developer’s kit, because being able to wear my favourite designer’s fitmesh on that body would make it a lot more attractive to me to use it regularly!!

      • Do you care to elaborate on ”I understand why they use an external server for their HUDS – the textures contained within it and the way it works just wouldn’t function in SL?”

  3. I enjoy my TMP Male Deluxe body. I am usually able to find that regular mesh fits really well but I find the styles at the Shops to be really lacking. Who are their looks supposed to appeal to and their prices can be very offputting.
