Quick note – WordPress users, if you have previously subscribed to my blog, please do so again – I’ve updated the backend so it won’t continue to send you emails unless you do. Thanks! <3
Now I know I primarily talk about Mesh Bodies and Mesh Heads on my blog – but let’s face it, there are a *lot* of other types of mesh items out there – from attachments, to body parts, clothing and pretty much anything else you can dream up! One of the more common mesh items is mesh eyes. Now I’ve been a die-hard Ikon user pretty much since I started in SL, but recently I came across a new release from a store called [Bent Box] – the ‘Lightcatcher’ eyes. They’re an interesting concept really – the kit comes with a HUD that allows you to alter colours and such, but the ‘eyes’ themselves consist of two eyes (obviously) and also eye sockets – which I found a little odd to begin with, but once I’d worn them it made a lot more sense. See the eyes literally do ‘catch’ the light -they’re ‘reflective’ of light. Obviously you need to have Advanced Lighting on for this one, but they’re really quite fascinating to look at. Here I am using the light of the torch that I used in my main post as the light source to see what light bounces off of them (the torch is actually positioned quite far from me, but as you can tell by my eyes it’s quite bright).
I highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking for something a little different. I also recommend looking at Ikon, and the amazing FateEyes by Damien Fate – the FateEyes in particular have an ENDLESS array of options for an amazing price, and they even include animated options (I particularly like the swirling ‘twilight zone’ effect) and so many texture options, including broken glass eyes and more. Definitely worth a look! You can see the eyes in this post. Of course, there are many more amazing eye options out there, but I wanted to mention some of my personal favourites <3
Now whilst I was [BentBox] I also came across these Fawn legs – I can’t for the life of me remember who, but I remember quite some time ago that I was asked if I knew any that had been designed to work with the various mesh bodies. So here you go, you can grab a demo and check them out at [Bentbox]:
Now I haven’t much dabbled into the ‘fantasy’ side of mesh avatars as yet – tell me, do you use one? If so, which one? What fantasy bodies should I be reviewing to add to the MBA review archives? Leave a comment below and let me know!
Well, that’s all for today MAddicts, stay tuned for your Weekly Fitmesh Finds!
