This week I’ve been playing around with the new Aggie Bento mesh head by Altamura. Now just to clarify, there are TWO Aggie mesh heads, one is bento compatible and one isn’t, so make sure when you purchase it that you select the bento one!

So there are quite a few things I like about this mesh head – it’s Omega comaptible, which was really handy because I really wanted to try it with a softer looking skin than what it comes with, and eventually I settled on this skin from Glam Affair (which is actually designed for LAQ mesh head, but uses the Omega system so I cheated haha), and I didn’t mind it, but to be honest it’s not my style. Now that might seem like a contradiction given the nature of bento, but it’s important to remember that even with a bento mesh head, there are limitations, and the problem I run into a LOT is the teeth. The minute you try to round off that jawline, the teeth stick out, it’s insane. Now that’s something that happens with a lot of the heads, I think it’s all part of the ‘alpha bento testing’ and fingers crossed will be resolved over time.

Altogether, I’m not a huge fan of their HUDs because I do find them a little confusing and I couldn’t really find a shape that felt like ‘me’ with this head, but all said and done I think a lot of people will really love it. It does go to show that even with bento, picking the right head to start with is important, because each head reacts differently to sliders (in the case of this one, it responds very strongly to sliders) and although you can customise, it’s still not a perfect system, so I couldn’t make a ‘Daria’ head from this particular shape for example, because the eyes looked odd if they were too small so I had to keep them big, and the nose pulls in on the eyes a little.

As always, demo and make your own decision, only you know what’s truly ‘you’ 🙂

  1. There is another problem with this head . The upper part of the skull narrows too much, so if you wear a hairstyle that does not covers it, you can see that the hair does not touch the head.

  2. I think this is the most flexible bento head till now, it responds quite a well to the sliders, unlike the Catwa and Akeruka heads.
Regarding your comments about the chin, it is not a problem of the bento heads, so there is nothing to be resolved, maybe people just need to learn a bit how to shape them
